Located in central Alberta, just west of the city of Red Deer, Soderberg Quarter Horses is home to husband and wife team Sheldon and Cindy Soderberg and their children, Lindsay and Wayne. You are able to find Sheldon and Cindy most days somewhere on the farm involved in all aspects of the breeding, training and showing operations. If, by some miraculous stroke of luck, you try to reach us and no one is here to take the call .... wait 15 minutes and try again. This place is a beehive of activity!

Breeding, training and showing is all part of the Soderberg program. Whether it is tending to the broodmares and their babies, preparing a futurity prospect or working with a student, the focus of the operation is to provide well tuned show prospects that are healthy and good minded and that can be easily matched to riders of any age, skill level or competitive direction.

Over the years many horses have come and gone and they have all helped to shape the current training program and determine the direction it should take to help us grow as professionals and as a business. The facilities have also grown to meet the demands of our customers and house the ever increasing horse population. What originally began with a small barn of 6 stalls, has expanded, allowing us to keep 35 horses warm and under lights. There are also 18 different sized turnout pens that are in daily use as well as an indoor and outdoor arena. Three large pastures provide room for more than 30 broodmares and their offspring year-round and on any given day you are likely to find in excess of 100 horses on the farm.

Some of our customers have been with us for many years and yet there are always new ones that are just starting out, looking for their place in the equine industry. We are continually excited and challenged to meet their needs and those of their horses, young and old, when they progress through hours and hours of hard work and determination. It is with great pride that we share in their accomplishments, locally and nationally.

As longtime professionals, it is a great joy to see the excitement they have for this new undertaking and it's our pleasure to help them achieve their goals. Here at Soderberg Quarter Horses we find it imperative that our horses enjoy what they are doing. We find that an unhappy horse will never stand up to the rigors of competition. Our training program is essentially designed to bring out the natural abilities of each and every horse. We don't believe in 30-day miracles just lots of hours spent in the saddle!
